# Welcome to OpenFront

> An online real-time strategy game focused on territorial control and alliance building

## What is OpenFront?

OpenFront is a browser-based multiplayer real-time strategy game where you compete to expand your territory, build strategic structures, and form alliances with other players. Battle across 40+ maps based on real-world geography, from Europe and Asia to Africa and Antarctica.

This is a fork and rewrite of WarFront.io, licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0.

## Game mechanics

**Territory control**: Expand your borders by conquering adjacent territories. The more land you control, the more resources you generate.

**Strategic structures**: Build and upgrade cities, ports, factories, SAM launchers, and missile silos to enhance your defensive and offensive capabilities.

**Naval warfare**: Deploy warships and trade ships to control sea routes and generate gold income.

**Nuclear weapons**: Launch nukes with MIRV capabilities, but beware of enemy SAM launchers that can intercept your missiles.

**Trains and railroads**: In experimental mode, build factories that spawn trains and create railroad networks for enhanced logistics.

## Available maps

Choose from over 40 maps including:

* Europe, Europe Classic
* Asia, East Asia
* Africa
* Americas: North America, South America, Amazon River
* Regional: Britannia, Black Sea, Bering Strait
* Antarctica (Deglaciated)
* And many more specialized maps

## Game modes

* **Free-for-all**: Classic battle royale mode where you compete against all players
* **Teams**: Duos, Trios, and Quads for coordinated team play
* **Private lobbies**: Create custom games with friends and configure settings
* **Single player**: Practice against AI bots to learn strategies
